By Sally Delacruz

This is a way of writing where several authors work together to come up with a good story, document or book. Collaboration fiction is meant to enable a group come up with high quality work than a single person would do. This is achieved through sharing of ideas. While working together all authors have a right to contribute.

This kind of collaboration is not easy. At times it writers tend to find. When one author makes a change others may make critiques that are not genuine. The only way to curb this is always keep in mind the sole reason of coming together. To ensure the group sticks to their goal they can always set up rules to guide them during the entire collaboration period.

There are several patterns of collaborative writing. These patterns are classified depending on the arrangement of the members. This means that there are also diverse degrees of writing. We can have a situation where a single author conducts discussion reviews with coworkers then prints out the work. The other degree is where all co writers work joining to produce a play, document or a book.

Over the years this writing method has been introduced in other fields. Some of the fields are academic authoring, literacy programs, research done by doctors and in schools. Learning institutions have borrowed ideas from collaboration writing to encourage learners to work as a group hence doing most of the class work on their own. This has improved students performance.

The importance of collaborative writing cannot be undermined. It has various benefits. This article shows some of the main advantages. Most importantly fiction skills of coworkers are strengthened. Writing skills are built through discussing and reading memoir, welcoming critiques from colleagues and making sure every time there is a study co writers agree first. This strengthens writing skills of an author.

Joint authoring is the best way to create an environment for people to help each other. The chances are high that any time you ever help other writers they will remember and some day they will help you too. This can be done in diverse ways. The most common is sharing and liking their fun pages online. Also comment positively on their posts. These acts may seem insignificant but the truth is they appreciate your generosity. When you will need help such authors will come in.

Another benefit of working together is that an author will work more. When you work with other people they have expectations and standards that they want you to meet. You cannot decide when you will work or set your own deadlines. Authors give you work and expect you work within a certain time frame. This makes one get more committed to work and develop self-discipline.

It is important writers deal with the ugly hidden truth that a big number of authors often get jealous. Writers feel insecure of those doing well in the field. They only view them as competitors and not friends. The most advisable way of shunning these negative feelings is to collaborate with such people. If one works with other writers whether editing, sharing creativity or reading the works of other authors it will be impossible feel jealous.
