Phlox in bloom



Phlox is a genus of 67 species of perennial annual flowering plants. They fall into the family Polemoniaceae, and are found mostly in North America. One species is found in Serbia. They thrive in habitats ranging from alpine tundra to open woodlands and prairies. They have grown to be popular among gardeners because of their varied colors including pale blue, violet, pink, bright red and white. Some flower in the spring while others flower in the summer and fall.
