Tips On How To Write A Novel

By Andrew Richardson

Writing stories and novels require a writer to have creative minds. Good novels usually show reality allowing each reader to find the humanity and truth in the world that is completely created. No matter what kind of novel you want to write, either a romance or thriller, you will need endless creative energies, passion, and commitment in making a draft, revise or edit if possible.

If writing is really your passion, then you can turn that passion into a lucrative hobby. Actually, it is an ideal choice to write and sell your stories particularly if you have pulled the interest of many readers. If you are planning to make this possible, then make sure to consider effective ways on how to write a novel.

Carry a notepad and pencil so you can jot down your ideas wherever you go. You get inspired by something you see and hear on your work, while walking in the park, or even if you are daydreaming. The truth is, you will never know when an idea comes out. Being a writer needs you to get inspired all the time. In fact, some writers find it very hard to create an idea. The only solution for that is inspiration.

Next is to consider the genre you love most. Actually, not every story suits into a specific category, but think about your audience and your genre as you begin planning the draft. Read major works that fall into your selected genre and understand everything including the proper construction of the stories and the standards of your selected genre.

Once you decide to which genre to write within, plan about the setting of your story. You should not focus to only one setting only and start dreaming big. The setting you are thinking will actually identify the mode and tone of the story which could affect the problems that your characters encounter. You also need to think about questions as you outline the book.

Novels would never be completed without creating the characters. Therefore, make your characters effectively. The protagonist is one of the characters that will make the story beautiful. Thus, make it interesting. Ideally, protagonists do not have to liken, but should drive the interest of your readers.

Visualizing the plot would be the next step to consider. A lot of novels, no matter what the genres are having some sort of conflicts and disputes. Tension and problem build until the issue comes to a climax and the it is resolved in different ways. It does not mean that novels should end happily like fairytale stories. It is more giving motivations for each character while making a meaning of the story.

To make a great draft, it would be better to scan different books before starting the procedure. Make sure to read those relevant topics in your book. This is actually important before and after creating the novel. This would be helpful in any way. Remember, each character with similar and different personality traits must be compared carefully.

When writing a book, writers need to be insensitive when it comes to feedback. If readers give you comments or feedback to change something, then consider it, but never change the story automatically. Be sure it is something you want to change for the betterment of your book. Also, keep in mind that because a person dislike it does not mean everyone else will.
