Fighting Racial Profiling With Compassion And Positivity

By Edward King

The world is a very big place filled with people who come from different places. This means that one place differs in so many ways to other areas. It should not come as a surprise that there are many different cultures scattered all over the globe. Sadly, is has become common news that conflict arises when two cultures occupy the same area or place. This should not be the case at all because every single person has his own rights to express. Law Enforcement and Race Relations is a very big issue that is visible in almost every country.

It is sad to know that in some of these situations, individuals are just trying to protect their families and somehow the police misinterpret these actions as hostile acts. A huge number of black people have fallen victim to what the press now calls racial profiling. Individuals are now being arrested simply because of the race they belong to. This may be hard to believe for some folks but this is a common truth that is happening in many parts of the world.

Culture and tradition are two determining factors that affect how an individual acts. It defines his personality and acts as the foundation with which he builds a family upon. All people belong to different races and ethnicities and should therefore be respected at such.

Of course this cannot be completely eradicated but can only be minimized. Just because it often happens does not mean that everyone is doing it. This seems to be the case in many areas where people are being arrested simply because they are of the same color as the ones suspected of a certain crime. It might be impossible to imagine but this is really happening and the sad thing is that the number is continuously rising.

Research is a good tool to have when contemplating whatever needs to be done. It allows one to weigh all options necessary before making important decisions. Knowing where get the right info is equally important. Being ignorant to an issue can cause confusion and lead to biases that can affect relationships with others.

The usual sources that people have are the opinions of loved ones and other patients. These suggestions are held in high regard because they are from trusted sources. The power of the spoken work is very influential in spreading information about certain issues. Awareness makes the public more open to necessary changes that need to be done.

Another way is the internet which provides everything needed for data. Here one can check out web sites and chat rooms to learn as much as he can about different cultures. Research online is an easy way because one can do it at home with a computer or a mobile phone.

Asking for the opinions and suggestions of relatives, loved ones can also guide man in every way imaginable. Experience is always the best teacher so asking folks that have had prior experience should be helpful. The lessons that families can teach are invaluable in shaping the personality of growing children.

Misunderstandings are a part of life. But this must not be used as an excuse to unjustly treat another human being. Treating people with respect and compassion is the best way of living life to the fullest without enemies and conflict. A peaceful life can be achieved if everyone is treated fairly and justly.
